Hello and welcome to the Buddhist Insight Meditation Wales community
|Connecting During The Pandemic|
|The Insight Meditation community is responding to the Corona Virus pandemic with great energy – many offerings are moving online. This means there are opportunities to attend retreats with teachers you have been keen to study with who have been geographically impossible to reach.
If you are interested in exploring the online offerings, Sheffield Insight Meditation are maintaining a Google Doc called Dharma Resources in the time of Coronavirus – it is a comprehensive list of the various online offerings. And of course there is the Gaia House Online Dharma Hall.
Long-term planning feels a bit redundant at this time. We will consider the need and viability of moving the day retreats online closer to their planned dates, if it is still needed.
Welcome to the Insight Meditation Wales community
Are you looking to connect with a local Buddhist meditation community? Are you interested in learning about Insight Meditation? If so, we warmly invite you to join us in our exploration of the Buddha’s teaching on generosity, kindness, awareness, concentration and wisdom.
The sitting groups and day retreats are an opportunity to meditate in a supportive environment and discuss the relevance of the Buddha’s teaching to life on and off the meditation cushion. Together we cultivate a community built on a foundation of respect and acceptance. You are welcome to come along regardless of your ethnicity, class, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ability or culture. You do not need to hold particular beliefs or to consider yourself a Buddhist to sit with us.
Sitting groups and retreats listed on this website are organised by experienced meditators who have strong links with Gaia House, a Buddhist silent meditation retreat centre.
You are welcome to join us whether you are new to meditation or have an established practice. Absolute beginners to meditation are warmly welcomed.
There are, Bhikkhus, these four times. What four? The time for listening to the Dhamma, the time for discussing the Dhamma, the time for serenity, and the time for insight. These are the four times.
