Feeling Tone and Reactivity: An Experiential Meditation Day
The Four Foundations of Mindfulness Series
Date and time: Sunday, 8 September 2019, 10am to 4.30pm
Venue: The Pales LD1 5UH
During this day we will explore our ability to note the pleasant, unpleasant and neutral feeling tones of experience and how we might be able to harness this knowing in the service of understanding reactivity and our impulses. We will explore how the impulse to do something/anything and the impulse towards health manifest themselves on and off the cushion.
This day is one of five day retreats exploring the four foundations of mindfulness. You are welcome to join any or all of the days. The instructions will be given with reference to Analayo’s book Satipatthana Meditation, A Practice Guide. Analayo’s book is linked with recorded guided meditation instructions so it will be possible to take the day’s theme into your practice, treat the days as an opportunity to sit with like minded people or as a one-off taster.
This is a silent meditation day-retreat. The day’s guidance will include experiential information sharing, meditation periods and discussion. Suitable for all.
Committing to Buddhist Insight Meditation led to significant and ongoing positive change in my life. I love sharing my experience of exploring the Buddha’s teaching on and off the mat with fellow seekers and followers of the Buddhist paths.
This retreat is booked by payment of the £15 registration fee.
